Network Computing Awards Name Imagination Group & Cohesive Networks Network Project of the Year – Private Sector
Global Azure cloud migration project wins category for cloud innovation, time to market
18 March 2016 – London, UK – Network Computing Awards judges this week announced finalists in the 2016 Awards. Cohesive Networks and Imagination Group are among the finalist for the category Network Project of the Year – Private Sector. In this finalist use case, the Imagination Group needed to connect multiple VPNs into the Azure cloud in quick 2 month timeline. The company’s global VPN sites also needed low latency and international reach.
“Without VNS3 we couldn’t have connected multiple VPN sites to the Azure environment,” said Paul Saunders, Imagination’s Head of IT EMEA and Global Networks. Imagination continues to use VNS3 as it connects APAC offices to Azure, as well as future planned system migrations. Imagination also plans to
migrate their backup from the London location to either Azure or the AWS cloud for greater resilience using VNS3 See the full VNS3 use case for Imagination here.
About the project:
Cohesive Networks is a cloud-native network and security company. The flagship product, VNS3 helps over 2,100 customers in more than 22 countries provide more than 500 million devices hours of application networking for public and private cloud. VNS3 offers enhanced network services in layer 4-7, using the Docker container systems to allow customers to create their own “in mesh” application plugins. VNS3 use cases range from a simple VPN tunnel to distributed cloud networks using multiple endpoints, intrusion/extrusion detection, and high availability.
Imagination, a global creative agency, decided to migrate a new ERP application to a central Microsoft Azure location, but discovered they could not connect multiple VPN connections and Azure only supports IKE version 2. After tested hardware solutions to connect sites to the Azure-based ERP app, Cohesive Networks was able to help the company set up, test, and launch quickly. Imagination was able to implement their Azure migration on schedule, and went from on-premise to live production within 2 months. “We couldn’t connect multiple VPN sites to the Azure environment without VNS3,” said Paul Saunders, Imagination’s Global Network and Operations Manager.
