Cloud Questions Answered

Where do my cloud servers come from? Is my business compatible with the cloud? How do I connect and secure my cloud servers? How do I configure and manage my cloud-based business? Cohesive Networks addresses enterprise pain points from the enterprise and business application perspective.

Security & Compliance

A vital part of network planning and growth, security and compliance are requirements for production public cloud deployments. VNS3 helps customers add layers of security they control, including end-to-end encryption, segmented IPsec tunnels, and cryptographic key control.

Healthcare

Problem
AngelEye provides parents with interactive access to their babies in restrictive care, but must also ensure the data is Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant.

Solution
AngelEye moved their camera network to AWS VPC for added security, private IP addresses and SSL connections. VNS3 helped the IT team add more VPC endpoints to all hospitals through a single network controller.

Outcome
By sending sensitive data through a VNS3-powered VPN, AngelEye no longer has to worry about cameras on public IP addresses, open firewall rules, or data encryption at rest.

Problem
A subsidiary of the Gas Technology Institute (GTI) was facing an increasing stream of requests for documentation, certifications, and penetration test results from their customers in the natural gas and energy sectors. LocusView’s IT team wanted to answer each request for security information with a consistent package of responses.

Solution
LocusView used the NIST Framework to identify and consolidate security policies for individual applications, and was able to document and discuss plans as issues arose to simplify and shorten the process. Cohesive also provided VNS3 firewall virtual machines to manage and secure LocusView’s network.

Outcome
Since implementing Cohesive’s approach to the NIST Framework, LocusView’s passed initial audits and the first of several penetration tests.

Problem
The Auto Rental SaaS develops and distributes car rental system software to vehicle rental and car dealerships. The company needed additional security and connectivity between AWS resources and client data centers.

Solution
VNS3 helps the company create a secure connection from a handful of servers in AWS to their end client’s data center using encrypted IPsec tunnels.

Outcome
After connecting their AWS networks to client data centers, the customer was also able to use VNS3 as part of a larger PCI-DSS audit.

Investment Management Firm

VNS3

Problem
The financial firm needed to set up a dedicated IPSec tunnel to partners using AES 256-bit encryption from inside an AWS VPC, as well as adding redundancy to ensure their tunnels stay up in case of network connectivity issues.

Solution
Using VNS3, the company created two tunnels to their partner, with the first tunnel for http requests that are non-latency sensitive and a second tunnel for failover. The VNS3 tunnels create isolated cloud-based environments to meet PCI compliance.

Outcome
Since implementing VNS3, the company has considerably reduced the scope of PCI audits and has adopted Cohesive’s approach to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

Accounts Receivable and Payments Software

VNS3

Problem
The company wanted to build out their next generation of services in the cloud. Given the nature of their debt recovery systems and solutions clients, privacy and regulation are very important. The company needed a higher level of VPN encryption than offered by AWS as well as a way to connect all of their customers’ dedicated VPCs together securely, but as separate networks.

Solution
VNS3 created one central management VPC to connect to customer networks via IPsec. The VNS3 controller in this management VPC was then connected to another VNS3 controller in each individual customer VPC.

Outcome
The company created a central VPC for outbound connections. They control the keys and the level of security, meaning their operation teams had only one central area to manage rather than each customer VPC. VNS3’s NAT-ing capabilities were able to handle the overlapping customer subnets.

Problem
The customer offers retailers an end-to-end solution to manage orders from start to finish, from order processing to inventory, sales, invoicing, and omnichannel fulfillment. The company needed an alternative VPN connection that supported  AES-256 bit encryption.

Solution
From the AWS Marketplace, the company was able to deploy, test, and configure VNS3 in production within days to replace their AWS NAT instances and Virtual Private Gateway (VPG) placeholder solution.

Outcome
VNS3 was able to quickly act as a drop-in replacement Amazon’s networking offerings that did not support higher AES 256-bit encryption. Now the company connects using AES-256 over static routes for VPC instances.
